who are you?

Well, its been a while since my last post but I have graduated college and have been looking for a job, not to mention I will be moving in a few days. In the midst of all of that these last few weeks, something has stuck out in my mind. Our guest speaker at graduation spoke about something really awesome. He said as we go out into life, many people will notice us. They will see us and what we are doing, what we have accomplished, and see our success and wonder "who is he?" or "who is she?"

And being Christians we know that we have nothing without the assistance of God and that it is all by his grace and its all blessings from him. So, when they see the great things we are doing they shouldn't be asking "who are you?" they should be asking "who is with you?"

So even when we are having great things happen to us, we should use it for our fundamental purpose in life, to spread the gospel.

God loves us and God is with us every minute of every day!

Footprints

One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

I was instantly reminded of this poem

Its a Hard life, so what do we do?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!"-Rocky

Life is tough. Its no secrete. Sometimes it is not fair to us and others timeangrys it is not fair to those we love. Either way, we must learn to cope with it because it is part of life and we can't escape it. It is a natural thing to feel angry and bitter and to ask why sucha thing could happen. We try to make logical sense and say "Well I am a good person, why are bad things happening?" "They don't do anything right, yet all the good stuff happens to them." It just doesn't work that way. I believe it is meant for a few reasons. Firstly, to remember that we can't handle it alone. We need God to get through those things. Second, to give God the glory for handling the situation and his wonder and grace being shown in the miraculous act of fixing the problem or situation.

When it happens to other people and we see it, I feel like we must need to help them remember these things. If the person is not a true believer it becomes an excelent way to share the gospel with them. If nothing else, you get to have that conversation with them about having faith and possibly planting the "mustartd seed" so that God can work on their heart since they have been introduced to it at this point.

Its my prayer that we all have strength and wisdom at these times to find the right words and not fall into anger and bitterness so that we can be that light for those in the dark so that they may not perish but have eternal life!
